Ubuntu server 15.10 upgrade

Hi folks, my Ubuntu virtual server has not the latest release ?

wou@ubuntu:~$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 15.04
Release: 15.04
Codename: vivid

So, now upgrade

Logon as root :

wou@ubuntu:~$ sudo bash
[sudo] password for wou:
root@ubuntu:~# id
uid=0(root) gid=0(root) groups=0(root)

Launch the upgrade procedure :

root@ubuntu:~# do-release-upgrade

And few questions and a couple of minutes after, the migration procedure is done, just reboot :

root@ubuntu:~# shutdown -r now

And after reboot, your current version becomes “15.10” :

root@ubuntu:~# lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 15.10
Release: 15.10
Codename: wily
Based on 4.2 Linux kernel release :

root@ubuntu:~# uname -r
4.2.0-16-generic

AutoStack autopilot

New repository

Add those repository entries :

root@ubuntu:~# add-apt-repository -y ppa:juju/stable

And update :

root@ubuntu:~# apt update

Metal as a Service installation

Install MAAS (it takes a while …) :

root@ubuntu:~# apt install maas

Use a browser to see the login page :

ubuntupilot

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Create admin account :

root@ubuntu:~# maas-region-admin createadmin
Username: admin
Password:
Again:
Email: your_email

You can now logon with this account on your WEB page :

ubuntupilot1

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

AutoStack Autopilot

Install AutoStack :

root@ubuntu:~# apt install -y openstack

Retrieve the API key from the MAAS WEB interface :

ubuntupilot3

 

Configure this utility :

root@ubuntu:~# openstack-install

You will get this configuration panel :

Confirm, enter password twice, and confirm

Enter email @ ; I.P. @ and the your MAAS API key

You need to enlist at lest one machine in MAAS to continue …

And currently, I have no machine to add, so I’m stopping here !
