Today is the D day, I will install VMware ESXi 5.5 on my HP Proliant gen8 microserver !

What I know is that my delivered microserver has only 2GB memory, and it’s not sufficient to handle ESXi (4GB required). No problem, I installed the 8GB additional memory module, and from now, I got 10GB…

Before this, I installed Ubuntu server, so my hard drive has a Linux partition …

Don’t ask me why, but VMware ESXi installation doesn’t work on a Linux partitioning hard drive !

So, what I did : I downloaded KNOPPIX live CD, and I used Rufus USB to create a bootable image on a USB key.

Using this Linux live CD, I launched “fdisk /dev/sda” command to create a Windows partition on my disk.

Then, it was so easy to install VMware ESXi 5.5
